The notes of the first Montreux Jazz Festival rang in 1967. Nowadays, over 250’000 music lovers wander next to the lake, following the rhythm of the live shows. Montreusian chords have transcended geographic borders; great names such as Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Ella Fitzgerald or Miles Davis have enriched the scores of the Montreux Jazz, year after year.

The Montreux Jazz Festival managed to stay true to its original identity, based on musical diversity and discovery, despite benefitting from an international success over the last fifty years.

Airports

SIR – Sion Airport, Sion

Sion is the closest available airport to land in your jet and go straight to Montreux. You can either go to the festival by car or ask your Simply Jet advisor to organise your helicopter transfer right to your hotel where you can rest after your flight and go enjoy the festival.
GVA – Geneva Cointrin Intl Airport, Geneva

The international airport of Geneva is located in the North of the city. It will take you approximately 30 minutes by car to get to the lake. The airport has a private terminal and passengers flying private will have access to VIP lounges and quick customs leading directly to the tarmac. During summer, the airport is quite busy and slots to land or take-off are not always easy to find for last-minute flights.
